Hi All,
As above I am looking for some AF, not a huge amount required, 20-30 plants would be good. Happy to pay for the plants and express post delivery.
Please txt 0407 713 026 if you are able...

Very nice setup Joel.
Recommend you keep a very good eye on your ammonia and nitrIte levels unless you have used mature media from a tank with similar water parameters. Be prepared to do regular...

Hi FHP,
I think you will struggle to maintain what you are after in that tank for a few reasons;
Water parameters for healthy live bearers and discus do not align all that well.
If you do...

Hi Webby and welcome,
In regards to your bristlenose problem I don't think it is likely that the discus have anything to do with that. The more likely problem with b'nose and discus is the b'nose...

Hopefully the fish grow out nicely for you. What varieties do you have?

Hi Angel 101,
If you google "aquarium industries" their site will be the first one to come up. You can then access the current stock list. At the moment they have both Peru and Altum angels in...

Thanks Jacqui,
Testing for nitrAtes only in a new tank is high risk as you are not going to get nitrAtes if you don't have a colony of nitrobacter established on your filter media and without...

Hey Jacqui,
Check your posts please, ammonia and nitrIte should be zero, nitrate in small amounts, less than 20 ppm is not to bad though A. Ramirezi are more sensitive.

Bob

Hi again Steele,
Good to see you have made it here. To get the most of the experience available here you should also add information regarding your water conditions and measures, ie, pH, gH and...

Personally I like seeing some competition so welcome Abyss.
I recently (couple of years ago) purchased a 6x2x2 and paid close to $1000. I contacted a couple of tank builders at the time and was...

G'day mate,
I have a feeling that your problem has initially started as a filtration problem which is now stressing you fish and leading to further diseases.
What type of filtration do you have...

Hi DKF,
If you can get the filter media from your 3' tank and bang it into your new filters that should give you a good start. Just monitor your ammonia, nitrIte and nitrAte levels more regularly...

Hi Duckess,
Not sure why we should have to deal with it. Obviously the unit cost and transport costs can't be that much different especially with the Aussie $ running at a significantly better...

I would love to take four of them at that price plus the cost of shipping if you are able to arrange that.

Hi Axl,
My guess would be that the CO2 injection means that your discus are low on oxygen. When I first had a school of discus in a heavily planted tank they would be gasping for air in the...

Hi Again Elleisa,
If you have ammonia a colony of nitrosomonas bacteria will establish, over time.
When you have a colony of nitrosomonas converting ammonia to nitrIte, you will, over time,...

Hi Elleisa,
In my opinion your best option in regards to filtration is to contact the breeder and ask if they would be willing to swap some old media for new media. Determine the amount, buy that...

Hi Bujin,
Hope all has gone well for you today.
There are some pics of my discus tank on page two of the photo album. Some under the heading "Wild Greens" which I no longer have, and some under...

Hi Bujin,
Too many fish, not enough water, possibly too little filtration.
Ammonia is a waste product produced by your fish, excess fish food and anything else dieing in your tank.
