I use tap water which is treated with prime and airated and heated (in winter ) and it starts off at a ph of 7 and I have had no problem with my eggs hatching. had heaps of problems with them eatting...

I have loss 4 adult discus slipping out through small slits in the glass top as where the filter hoses enter the tank and the return hose goes in.

I was told that you should rest your breeding females as they only have so many eggs and not to waste a spawn.

First I would sit down and watch them
Second If they are calm and settled I would try and seperate them.

My breeding pair started off with 13 practice spawns on the cone "20 babies" lucky 13 then the last after we cleaned the tank and moved a divider in to reduce the 3ft space she spawned on the glass...

on sunday
had 3 hour power blackout have very small generator had airpump going and gas heater but lost half of all wriggles as temp dropped to 26C from 29C.
