It's been a while since I've posted about UVCs, but his is correct ILLUSN. UV lamps have an effective life of about 8000 hours (which is about 11.5-12 months if run 24x7) so the best thing Rob could...

Hi Merrilyn,
The general rule of thumb is to sterilise, you need to pass the water by the UV lamp at 1/4 the rate for UV Clarification. This means slower than pb's suggestion of 1/3 the rate. Based...

It's been a long time since I've posted here, but 'domestic' Ultra Violet Clarifiers have come a long way in nearly seven years, and prices have dropped dramatically!
The latest models are...

Just a quick addition to this thread - as with everything these days, cheaper Chinese imitation product is taking over the market. We've sourced some good quality UV bulbs made in China, but around...

What about Hozelock? They're THE name brand - they have had UVC's on the market in Australia since 1985 - we've stocked them since 1985!
Have a look at...

The Crommelin product will not work.
As the PDF file linked above specifies, it is for use on masonry products (concrete, stone, rendered surfaces) and not timber.
We sell a comparable product...

Large UVC's using Philips lamps certainly do work very well. Sorry to say but we've sold out of our Hozelock Cyprio Vorton 9000 units at the special price - they're back to the normal price of $326...

Yes the wattage will help, along with the fitting type ;)
46w doesn't exist in the Philips catalogue...

We don't carry 46W tubes, I'm sure I can get them.
Is it a PL-S TUV or another type of lamp? Is it Philips brand?
Let me know the exact specs and I'll get back to you.
Derek.

I've got two ponds at home - the photos of this one are the one in the backyard, built cleverly under the stairs down from the back verandah - it uses up a space that nothing would grow in (not...

All the UV products we sell are UVC's not UVS's. Pumps don't come with UVS' (although Hozelock has a soon to be released combined pump/filter/UVC unit which I have seen - shhhh don't tell anyone) but...

Yup and out of all the digital cameras I've tried in the "prosumer" part of the market, the Nikon ones seem to perform the best with Macro. Not sure if it's the lenses, the camera firmware or what,...

Proteus,
My technical documentation about Hozelock Cyprio UVC's provides similar information to what you've already given.
Philips PL-S TUV lamps found at the bottom of the page linked emit...

Hi everyone,
Just thought I'd clarify a few things about the Hozelock Cyprio Bioforce UVC filters.
Ladyred,
There is no minimum flow rate - you can put the water through as slow as you like....

You might be interested in a float switch then - the "DIY" models are ideal for this situation because they have a piggyback plug which you just plug your pump into. They go really well with the...
