Yes you can take the cone out but it's really all up to the parents if they want to take care of them it's not that the fray don't want to attach its the parents that dont whant to feed them il bet...

When the batch is not worth raising to small the parents will often spawn again they might eat them they might ignore them depends on the fish, after 4 to 5 days of free swimming they will start...

Discus are from 2 batches I have 14 discus left at approximately 7 cm 30$ each,and 2 discus at 10 cm 50$ each bred and raised by me in conditioned tap water very hardy fish I guarantee disease free...

Its not going to happen mate they will get eaten. Your best bet is a divider if you have no other option, bunnings acrylic 3mm sheet very easy to score and snap to size

Discus juvies are from a female alenquer and a male checkerboard.
Also have cory cats and bristlenose catfish at 5$

Alenquer and checkerboard breeding pair with fry -400$. Alenqure x checkerboard fry starting to color up-20$ Blue turquoise male -180$. Checkerboard male -180$.

I disagree,the fry are a weak old eating brine shrimp don't bother with egg it will only pollute your water,the point of feeding egg the first days of free swimming is one it's cheap and to get them...
