The F1 baenschi are now ready to move out, will post some pics soon.

Looking for $50/pr or $70 for trio (1m:2f) - think it's reasonable given retail is around the $80-$90 mark for a pair. Male and female are off different bloodline guaranteed (turns out I've had one batch from a pair that came through with more males while another batch from different pair became females heavy, now I have a better idea on the optimal temperature to get an even gender ratio).

I'm not be able to compete with the recent Melbourne LFS special as I do not run a business where the cost can be offset from other sales.

Currently limited on the male as the male heavy batch is a small batch. The next batch are still way too small and won't be ready until probably 02/07. This is one slow growing species.

The aggie "Tefe" is also getting close to ready, currently only have males at a decent size. Cannot guarantee on the bloodline as I've got a mix of them from 3 different parent pairs (ran out of tank space/house space). If there's interest for male only at this time, they're also available (at limited number).

Other species coming up in near futures are elizabethae "red" (from German stock) and F1 pucallpaensis (very slow grower and small spawn - even slower than baenschi and numbers are very limited).

Please PM me of your need, I'll try to organise.

Thomas.

PS: Mike, I lost the PM on the number you're after, can you resent please.

Thomas I'm very interested in getting a pair or trio of elizabethae "red" from you. Is shipping to Melbourne a possibility?

Currently they're still very small - around the 1 - 1.5 cm mark. Prefers not to move them until they're larger (to reduce chance of death from transport stress).

Can arrange shipping (have sent fish to Melbourne/Brisbane in the past from sourcing fish in Sydney), but freight cost will be extra.

Thomas.

No problems. I'm happy to wait, and of course pay for freight costs. I'm also interested in a trio of F1 pucallpaensis when they're ready too.

Chris and Merrilyn,

Thanks for the support.

Shipping to Melbourne/Brisbane is around $65 per box (from memory), and I still have yet to price the pucal and eliza as these are still rather small and not sexable. So by the time they reach a decent size and don't turn out to have both gender, then I'll have to decline the sales (unless you're after display males only if they're all male).

So PM me when you wish me to send them and I'll get the box organise (need some time to bag/pack, give me a day or two to arrange required shipping materials).

Cheers,
Thomas.

PS: Rob - let's not spread rumours around here which is non-fish related :)

Steve,

No prob - by Feb the next lot of baenschi would be ready as well. In the mean time - all male from the current batch are gone, plenty of female still available (male heavy batch is much smaller number than the female heavy batch).

As for the pucallpaensis - the number is really limited as the batch is very small and they grow very slowly plus high fatality doesn't help.

Will update as soon as they're ready to go.

Thomas.

Unfortunately you cannot take the fish on board, and still need to send them by freight.

Hey TW,

It'll be at least 4-5 months before they're ready (from my last experience) if all goes well.

Prices - haven't even thought of that yet. Too early to even think about this, will publish as soon as they're close to ready.

Thanks Thomas - are you taking a waiting list, or will post here with a new thread when they're available?

Th0mas
Sun May 18, 2008, 02:15 PM
Too early for any waiting list, their numbers are still good so I expect there will be enough to go around.

Here's what I have at the moment:

macmasteri ($40/pr)
iniridae ($25/pr - limited number and prefers acidic condition)
baenschi ($50/pr)
hongsloi (adult male only - $15 each)
taenicara candidi ($140/pr - numbers are limited)
agassizi sp. Tefe ($85/pr - numbers are limited)

The candidi and Tefe are not my fish (LFS) and may be able to get better price if I can get enough number as a bulk buy

Hi all,

Am still around - flaggy and parra do drop me a SMS now and then to keep me inform whether I'm missed here or not.

Anyway, yes - I've been busy with an infant recent. And I'm still maintaining the following:

baenschi
iniridae (might not have pairs)
macmasteri
elizabethae

All are young adult, ready to go to new home. Drop me a PM if interested.
