Could be the metal things from the light still in the tank leaching out. If so, you need to find them and take them out. Plus massive water changes to reduce the metal that desolved in the water.

You did say something melt away. That means what ever it was, it is now in your water and could be very bad for the discus. I would do more WCs to get that out for sure. Plus, find the missing parts if possible.

Well I've kept up with massive water changes, probably 200% water change in the past 2 days. Everyone in the tank seems A-OK now! Wow, finally a fish crisis that didnt end in a bunch of dead fish!

The part that melted was just the ends of the wire where it connects to the light socket, so some copper, rubber, and plastic melted into the tank, hopefully it's all out now with the water changes...
