I have this wonderful pair of Balzani's but have not had any luck spawning them  .

Does any one have any tips?

These are my wife's favourite fish! she loves them and call's the male 'moby'

hey,

I have just had my pair spawn for me!
I bought a couple of fry about a year ago (about 3cm) there still pretty small about 12cm female and 10cm male (I assume these sexes are right?) and not as nice as your pair yet. I thought they were to young and little but they spawned for me yesterday. There in a 48"x18"x18" which they basically have to them selves except for a few cories. In actual fact they don’t even look like they get along they mostly keep to their territories on either side of the tank. Anyways the male (assume?) was acting funny this morning and not moving out of the big flower pot when I looked close there were eggs over the floor of the pot, it looks like the male is guarding the eggs he wont let the female or any thing else near them all I have read says the female guards the eggs. Water parameters are basically Brisbane tap water ph 7.2-7.4, kh 5 German degrees and gh??? and tank temp 25. The only thing I can think might have triggered the spawn was the big storm yesterday (low pressure system) just a theory anyways. Here are a few pics excuse the quality it’s a crap camera

hope this help cheers,

Those first two definitely have big bumps on the heads. I have a young fella and he hasn't developed a bump yet. Do females have them?

Whenever I see those fish, my brain always flashes up Arnold Schwarzenegger. "It's NOT a tumour!"

Wutang I'm after some as well, i've been hunting for a while and the only people i have found that have them don't seem to want to part with them.
If you find some extras can you please let me know and i will do the same for you
