The greatest discus show
On the first weekend of October it is traditionally time for the Discus Championship in Duisburg. The 6th International Discus Championship is the worlds most famous and most important show to certify discus fishes from all over the world. Diusburg will be the meeting-point for all discus fans. Four days long everything will turn around the discus fish. Again the Kraftzentrale at the Landschaftspark Duisburg-Nord will be the location for the Discus Championship. On about 6,000 sqm the exhibiton will show everything around the discus. You will find the whole product range concerning the discus, all new products and a great offer of information. All well-known manufacturers will present their products and breeders will offer their best fishes. Use this fantastic possibility to meet discus friends and experts from all over the world.
Special lectures about the discus will be held by experts. The lecture programm is included in the admission fee. Join this programme and learn a lot about the discus, their natural environment, breeeded forms, healthcare, feeding and a lot more. Ask the experts everything you like to know. The 6th International Discus Championship in Duisburg is the worlds greatest discus show, we expect discus exhibitors from about 20 nations. They will show their best wildforms and best breeded forms. Everyone can take part. Exclusive trophies and more than 25,000 Euros cash prizes wait for the champions.
The international jury (members see below) will judge every single fish. All jury members are discus experts. The fish will be judged concerning the following points: overall impression, largeness, proportion, fin, eyes, tail fin, gills and colour. The evaluation results by a computer programm and gurantees 100 % fairness.
For the categories A to D you can only register wild caught discus. For the Championship 2006 we have a new category: the category W. In this category you can register wild caught beedings for the first time. For the 6th International Discus Championship the number of exhibition tanks is limited to 336. So do not hesitate to register your fish.
The awards ceremony is the exhibitions highlight. It will take place on 1st October at about 1 p.m.. Another highlight is the Champions Galadinner at the Steigenberger Hof Hotel in Duisburg. The Galadinner will take place on 1st October 8 p.m.. You can meet all the champions and discus experts there. The price for the dinner is 60 Euros. The opening hours are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day. The admission free is 10 Euros for a one-day-ticket and 25 Euros for a four-day-ticket. There is enough free parking space near the exhibition ground.
