Thanks for the info its interesting to see how long some of our fish should live.

Pitty with a goldfish living up to 30 years they only have a 1 or 2 second memory.

apparently they dont... a bunch of people have done tests on it and it turns out they have a longer memory, cant remember how long though lol.

Yeah, they can't have a couple of second memory, because you can teach them to do tricks :)

Good to know my Discus should be with me for a long time if I continue to care for them properly.

the lists of lifespans i have are the average, i think your pleco life span is abnormal for it to live that long.

i know of a 12 year old cory and i have several that are 5 and look healthy and strong
only been keeping fish 5 years and still have cory's that were in the orginal fish purchase's

BGK would live for atleast 10. it takes at least 2.5+ years to reach ful size.

It doesn't say so but that post was edited a bit. It was originally a question but then I looked up my own answer. 3-7 years is a pretty broad range. I did expect it to be a lot longer than that

considering the size BGK can get to.... 50+cm (rare in aquaria but possible) it would have to be much longer. 3 years is far too short.

Bristlenose - 10+ years i would think. i know they can easily hit 9 years.

I have a Kissing Gourami that is 22 years old and still going strong. He is tough as nails!! Thats more than 4 times the expected, mind you he does get the expensive flake food and not the el cheapo stuff. :D

A 27 year old Pleco is pretty impressive! I bet he gets treated like a member of the family after that long.
