Lost a discus today

Sorry to say my 9-10cm Blue Turk discus jumped from it's tank last night. :cry:

This morning I found it on the floor. Looked like it have been there several hours at least. It had the best shape of my 5 turks.

it's always a shame to hear things like that and i t always seems to be your best discus too.

I have lost a good fish to the urge of them wanting to fly, and I had lids... (there was a 6cm x 2cm gap near the filter)...

nothing worse than losing any fish yet alone a good specimen.

don't you have lids???Took my lids off as the filter outlet and inlets wouldn't let them sit back properly.

Didn't think Discus were jumpers. I've got a 5cm brace right round the tank, with the lip of the glass 15mm above that. Given the distance from the tank I found him, and the height needed to clear the lip of the tank, I was surprised that he managed to get out given previous leisurely behaviour.

Oh crap i got a gap like that above my filter......have to change that.

I lost a butterfly with a very small gap in the back of the tanklid

i lost a female breeder melon due to the smallest of gaps too. :(

on the positive now you need to go and buy a replacement
