Hi SS, welcome to DF.com

I have never heard of it being added to any BH mix, but maybe someone else may know some more.

Being an active organism, I dont know how good it would be in a frozen environment prior to being provided as food...

i think that the yeast in the water would send it cloudy

i know it does (to an extent) with a co2 brewers and this is the same yeast

There is inactive and active yeast, but i know both make the water cloudy because when i made a diy co2 i tried it with inactive and it didnt work.

Brewer's Yeast is a food supplement often used for dogs. Totally inert, and provides extra nutrition.

I don't know about it in water, though ;)

I expected some different responses (I assumed it may be a common food additive). The reason I put it in my BH mix is because it is good for us and other animals and seems to be very good for the fish (lots of B Group Vitamins/minerals etc). Of course I lock it in with a gelatin binding agent so that it doesn't cloud the water. I am just concerned that may be too much iron over long term. Anybody have excessive iron problem?
