Discus are easy. They are just demanding of fabulous water quality, which means lots of waterchanges. They also need room to grow, so a large tank, and loads of food.

Lots of food=lots of waterchanges.

They also love it warm, 84F minimum, so good heaters are a must.

Juvies don't mind a slightly alkaline pH, but for breeding, you need to know your KH and other water parameters/chemistry so that you can manipulate teh tank water safely.

In the end how much care you give them reflects on how well the discus will grow up and look. Well good stock is also a factor but you can ruin a good fish with poor maintaince and you can revive a bad fish with good care.

I agree with Luv, the Discus are really easy to keep, just very "demanging". Water Quality and Feeding are the key...Once you understand that, it is simple.
