if their in a bag climatising;after say 1/2 an hr,add small amounts of tank water into bag at 5 min intervals. once released into tank u can add some sera aqutan to releive any stress. works 4 me.

I ll give it a go tommorow now because i just found ammonia in the tank so i did a huge water change. Ill wait till it settles down before putting him in.

With such a large pH change I would do a "drip acclimation".

Basically you use a bucket with some water from the first tank. Then you use airline hosing, with a loose knot tied in it, and "drip" siphon the water from the second tank into the bucket, which houses the fish. This can take hours, and when the bucket gets full, remove some of the water, and continue.

About a "drip" per second is good, as this will very very slowly acclimate the fish to the new water.
