Could have helped you if you were in melbourne, down here we have a company called ideal drums, that collect this drums from food processing places and medical storage. They melt them down for recycling, the guy comes to my work to collect metal drums and i asked him and sure enough the next week he brought me a 200ltr drum that used to contain vinigar. I left it in the sun for 3 days washed it and then another 2 days in good sunlight washed once more and bingo. done.
See if you can find a similar company in sydney.

Matt apparently there is a place at Kirrawee that has 100-200lt food grade drums they almost give away, but for the life of me I cant recall there name...

re the tank (Water storage) I can offer delivered to Parramatta 1 1000litre storage drum for $200.00 .They are great to preheat and pre treat that loverly Sydney water some people enjoy and even drink.

sounds like a good deal, however... in a 2br apartment, 1000lts is a bit big... 200lts max here and still looking...

Anyone in melbourne, ideal drums in cheltenham 200lts food storage containers, i got mine for free but thats because i did him a favour but i asked him how much normally and he said $20, dont ring saying Scott of a forum on the internet said $20 because iam not sure. This is the price he gave me because ive helped him out alot. Anyway ring and find out, the number is -
