I have a sample of what is called multisorb used for liquid spills (looks like kitty litter) I put some in a small container with water to see if it broke down 2 weeks so far and still ok. I will do a ph test later and see what reading I get.
Has anyone tried kittylitter in their planted tank?

i've used kitty litter before with good results

just make sure its a natural clay version

so it can let the nutrient back to the plants!

It depends on what you want to use it for? For a susbstrate I have never used it before but seriously I would not take the risk.

I know a lot of people that swear by using this.

They say it is just as effective as some of the very expensive planted tank substrates.

As Ryan mentioned, you just have to make sure it is the 100% natural clay stuff.
