Hi all,

can i place some shell dwellers with discus??? :?: :?:

I know is sound stupid as discus need softwater and shell dweller need hard. But I had never adjusted the water parameter for my discus tank. I think the pH is around 7.4-7.8 for the discus tank. but will they good & survive???? :? :?

Many thanks.

No.(period).

Shellies are nasty little fish and will harrass your discus to no end! These tiny little things have no fear and will attack a fish many times larger than them.

Ditto to the previous comment

Shellies are kool, and have loads of personality & attitude, however they show no fear, and for Discus which are very passive, they would be harrassed to no end.

That and the water requirements are at both ends of the scale. If you want a nice dwarf I recomend Dicrossus filamentosus, they are a little fussy but rewarding. If you can keep discus you can keep these guys.
