I have heard this is quite possible, due to breeding these days ie. Singapore.Does anyone keep Discus at this pH, and in a community type set up? How did you fair?

mistakes r crucial

No problem keeping Discus at that Ph, some people breed at that level. Keeping it stable is far more important.

Totally agree. Stability is far more important than the so called "correct" pH.

what about the "slime-coat" i was told it will only develop if the pH is slightly acidic i.e.6.8 or so.....?????? Jim

I haven't found any problems breeding with water at 7.2 pH. The slime coat was unaffected, but perhaps it depends on the particular pairs. No doubt there would be an increase in slime production at a lower pH.

Thanks guys, thought a stable pH was the key, was not planning on breeding them anyways.
