Hi there,

when's the best time to separate the fry from the parents and rear them with brine shrimp, etc?

Thanks in advance.

Chris.

I don't remove them till they are eating brine shrimp well, and not totaly relying on their parents for nourishment. If I can, I will leave the fry with their parents for three or four weeks, but every situation is different.

When they start to feed from the bottom of the tank.

Usually when they start to show some form of independants

as mentioned.

1. they seek out an alternate food source e.g eat off the ground.,, mum and dads food.
2. they eat whole food like brime, blood worm
3. 3 - 4 weeks is probably the best time

however
dont leave it too long as mum and dad may eat the kids to try for a new batch.

Yeah, yesaterday morning I found that my Red/White pair with fries were getting it on the PVC overflow pipe. Lucky I was there, so I removed the fries to another tank. Otherwise goneski
