If you are running a CO2 system you have to have a needle valve. A solenoid is optional, but highly recommended.

ahhhh no i couldn't see the point on it working on a D.I.Y co2. You do mean the bottle with yest method???

The reason a needle valve is needed with bottled co2 is too reduce the amount of co2 entering the tank otherwise the psi of the bottle would have the bottle empty within a day or 2 and the fish very unhappy.

The solenoid is too turn it off at night and plants need light too photosenthinise (sp?) and that is when the co2 is needed...

Guys,

Whats the cheapest price I could get into Bottle Co2 for?

I've also got a 6x2x2 planted tank.

I'm happy to travel all over to get parts.

Cheers

You can get a Tunze regulator with needle valve for $152 from the link below. As for the bottle you can get rentles which aren't to expensive or you can purchase an old co2 fire hydrant for about $50. I'm not sure were you get them from but I'm sure some member will know.

psx2doctor I'm not in the habit of making things up. If you look at the link below you'll see were you can purchase the old fire extinguishers from.
