I have an old piece of driftwood that I am wanting to use in my future discus tank. How long should I soak the wood before putting in the tank? Any other things to do to driftwood?

Thanks

BOIL BOIL BOIL!!

My personal preference is to bucket the wood, then fill the bucket with boiled water.

Let sit 24 hours, drain and repeat.

I usually do this at LEAST twice depending on where I got the wood and what type it is.

If you have used it before than once or twice should do.. Also depends how much of the tannis you want too take out of the wood..

Guys,

Does anyone have any suggestions for good places to pickup driftwood in Melbourne?

I'm looking for a centre piece of driftwood for a 6'x2'x2'

Cheers

Have you tried Mentone Aquarium? I think they have quite a lot of driftwood of all sizes.
