For Christmas SWMBO bought me the remaining three Blue Angels in stock at Exotic Aquatic - apparently 2 males and a female - at the Boxing Day sale.
What can I say other than the female is a hussy! Within 24 hours of joining the main tank she's pinched Mrs Koi's hubby and has a clutch of eggs.
Well today I get home and see the remaining blues protecting an anubias leaf full of eggs!
So, a couple of conclusions to draw:
1) Adrian is putting something in the water at EA to have 100% of his fish breeding within days of getting them home;
2) Someone has made a sexing error. Either Adrian got the numbers wrong or the Male Koi I was sold on Mr Koi's passing was not a male at all. At least that would explain why Mrs Koi hasn't laid :lol:
Off on 2 weeks holiday from the 13th. Just what's needed to convince SWMBO that we NEED another tank!
