They are expensive in Australia not in us or uk ,in aquabid us it's only $25 and tank breed altum in uk $ 40 in Malaysia the size like yours is $90aus not include transport fee and quarantine fee to australia.

Tank bred ones are from Taiwan, these are not $90aus in Malaysia to my limited knowledge (you may know more?), they are imported from Taiwan to Malaysia.

Yes they are hard to come by, i had 12 and now only 5 remain, hard to keep too.

Nice fish If I was to take a guess I would say the look like they are from Rio Ventuari They have a taller dorsal than some of the Orinoco Altums I have seen,it's hard to say because I am sure that the Orinoco has many variants when you consider how long the Orinoco is
