Advice please.

Hey,
I have a 8x3x2.6 planted tank,I am going to use discus as the main fish in the tank. I have just brought 3 discus. 1 from a mates tank and the other 2 from a LFS. The one I got from my mates tank is a full size adult and I was told it's call a sunset beauty and also a girl. Is this true?

The other 2 are around the 10 cm mark, One was sold to me as a red melon the other was sold as a ruby red ( I don't think this to be the case)

Can any sex the above fish please, Also are these fish of breeding quality.
The reason I asked is that I'm planning to strait breeding discus. The LFS has a few more that i would buy if these fish are any good for breeding.

RUBY RED = RED ROSE OR ROSE RED. Both it and the melon have been enhanced (most imported fish are these days) so expect the color to fade with time.

once the color enhancement fades if they have nice solid red from top to bottom they could be girls my gut says your red melon will be a boy (patchy red in the middle of the body), once it fades expect it to look like the fish in the first pic.

as for the fish in the first pic you wont know the gender till the tube drops during spawning,

try and give all your fish a good fed the top lokks like it has a sunken face the second is stunted (big eye) rose red looks good just keep up the food so it develops a good shape.
