has anyone tried feeding mysis shrimp to thier adult discus??
has any one found them to be a benifet?
they sell them at my local aquarium shop for $20 for 450 grams frozen.
they are much larger than brineshrimp but a little cheaper.

i feed them to young juvies they are doin better on them than on brineshrimp.
they have a higher protein than brine or bloodworm.
you wont have a problem feeding to adults.

I am always on the lookout for healthy alternatives to beef heart mixes - can you post the brand name or suppliers of these shrimp please.
Cheers

Sean, i bought the shrimp from:

www.boroniaaquarium.com.au

the brand is hikari,
i only bought the packet yesterday, and have only fed my discus twice with the shrimps, as you know, discus are such little pains, they ate all the shrimp but not with much enthusiams.

i done a google search and looked up what i could fing about the shrimp and apparnetly they are a fresh water shrimp, so my thoughts are that it would be a more natural food product for discus as opposed to brine shrimp.....

if any one knows how to cultivate these mysis shrimp please let me know as there does not seem to be much infomation on them.

I feed all of my fish Mysis, along with Brine & bloodworms - just sort of alternate between them and haven't had any problems.
