Gday,

A pair of my Rio Branco's or Altifrons (whichever one they are) laid eggs whilst I was away on holidays for two weeks. Upon my return on Saturday much to my pleasure they were guarding a heap of fry. Today they have been letting the fry venture further away from them towards the other geos and also 2 x clown loaches which are looking at them as a tasty snack.

Tonight I bit the bullet and set up a 2 ft tank and transferred the fry into the tank. Did I do the right thing? Will the fry survive on their own or should I put them back into the 6x2.5x2 tank?

Also what should I feed them? I have freeze dried decapsulated baby brine shrimp cysts which I have just fed to them.

Do I have to do anything else to raise them?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Dave.

they are dead easy to look after

feed them crushed flake/pellet and frozen baby brine shrimp (or freshly hatched if you could be bothered) and they will be fine.

you can leave them in the 2fter or put them in a fry saver in the parents tank. just make sure you flush out fry saver with fresh water often.

they are very easy fry to raise.... very forgiving
