Just wondering what plants people find work well in there tanks. I love the look of plants but cant find many that actually grow well. (thinking its due to the high water temp) Does anyone have some suggestions on plants that work well in there tanks?

I use anubias, planted and on driftwood, look great and don't mind low light. I need to use a machete on the valisneria (think that's the spelling) and coryomba (ditto, spelling). I had a tank where the swords took over, but in my 6' they look okay but a are tiny, don't grow much.

Crypts are a definate must. They are very easy to grow and come in both green and red varities.

your plants are probably not growing due to low light and low co2 levels

anibus, java fern and moss, and some hydro will grow

if you love the planted tank you should up your WPG and your co2

I find that most Hygrophilas grow very very easily. Mine apparantly need to be trimmed about once every week or so.

Anubias are great for aquariums with low lighting, but grow very slowly.

Most Echinodorus are great for discus tanks. However they do require a bit more lighting and also a lot of trace elements to grow healthy, especially Iron.

Crypts are also a good choice, and so are Corkscrews and Java Fern.

This is my planted tank using 110W Power Compact Lighting

Hey Louis, is that a new tank setup? if not, how do you keep the algae at bay?
