Hay all

I recently purchased a eheim 2026 (650LPH filtering) for my 230L tank. The media which came with it was the efimech (and substare, foam) which appear like ceramic noodles. However it says it is strictly mechanical filter which creates an even flow of water for the following layers. If this is strictly mechanical would ceramic noodles be a better choice? as they may do the same purpose except they are also a great biological filter. Any thoughts?

And has anyone used ceramic noodles or substrate in eheim internal powerfilters to improve biological filtering?

Hi I also have eheim 2028, I paid $499.00 for it because I wanted the best however when I compare it to my Rena filter it is crap. The Rena is better made and far easier to use, I cant actually lift the eheim and as for priming it No way. If I could go back I would buy another Rena for a cost of $350.00.
