Does anyone here keep red rainbows (Glossolepis incisus) with discus? I have bosemanis and I would like to add some reds, but it appears that the reds require cooler water. Anyone?

I did, the rainbows are far better swimmers and get the bulk of the food, it worked well so long as the discus were hand fed beefheart the rainbows just ate the flakes and color bits.

once 1 or 2 discus went off their food, and wouldn't eat from my hand i had to put them into a seperate tank so they got enough to eat.

So, they do fine in the warm water? How many did you keep?

I had a school of 6 but that dwindled down to 4 over 4 years, they didn't mind a temp of 29-31C.

their colors were always more of a "browny red then a bright red, once the discus were removed and the temp was droped to 27-28 they were much redder.
