Need advice with sick cichlids

Hey,
i no there not discus but i need some urgent help. Just got home before after being away for two days and have lost 5 cichlids to diease. They had white fungi spots over there back and there tails were all messy. What is this disease and what medication do i need. Will melafix fix it and i have just done a big wc to. Cheers axl

sounds like white spot.

increase the temperature if possible ( depends on what your keeping ) and go and get specific treatment for it from your lFS

i dont like the stuff you get from the LFS,they give you multicure or malachitgreen,it kills your filter bacteria :(
i would use salt 2gr/l for a week than big WC.
some people say it is not good for plants so you may take them out for the week and give them a bath in PP for 10 min,im not a plant person
so that part could be wrong
