Hi, just thought I would post a couple of pics of my bolivian rams, who live with my discus...

I have five of them although I have only posted photos of two or three of them... Does anyone know how to tell boys from girls?

nice altis, Sam. I recently inherited what is supposed to be a pair, from a friend who was moving house, and states, and possibly countries ...
I don't think they're a pair, if they are, they're like laurel and hardy as one of them is quite round and the other has a very strange skinny shape and its eyes look huge! undoubtedly from inbreeding or some other genetic defect. I should post a pic of it.
the ones you have posted have a really beautiful shape to them, they look really healthy too. hope you get some spawns happening from them.

thanks Chris, I think they are really nice.. they have grown heaps since I got them... they are about 5cm long.

I actually got these off Crocky, didnt I Brad...(and we all know that Brad breeds lovely fish, its that Wangaratta water!)

So they are male.... thanks for letting me know, I have been wondering for a while.

did you have any luck with the gularis, Sammi?
the ones I got for my girl have spawned and I've been diligently taking out the eggs and bagging them up. they should be ready by end of feb, mid march to try and hatch them out. first time for me to do killies like that and I hope at least some of the eggs hatch. It's hard to not think about it, but I guess patience is in order right now so the eggs have time to ripen properly before trying to hatch them. Wish us luck, if we succeed and you haven't got any, yet, I'll set a pair aside for you if you like.

Chris, I did not end up making the trip down and have instead bought myself some giant danios and long finned zebra danios for my new tank...I still have room for a couple of additions and I have bought these guys with the knowledge that they will get along with Killis or gudgeons (I really like peacock gudgeons which look similar to the gularis in a way) and can deal with lower temps that the killis may need... I have posted some pics in the photo album section.

I wish you luck with your spawn and would love a pair if you are successful... cheers
