Welcome to the forum dreamer. The reason we use beefheart is because it is a clean and easily obtained form of protein. But you could make up a mix using prawns, salmon or tuna, white fish fillets, brine shrimp or bloodworms, together with a good quality flake or granulated food. A balanced and varied diet is the key to healthy discus.
